Contraindications to Colonic Hydrptherapy in Newcastle upon Tyne

​Below is a list of contraindications of colonic hydrotherapy. A contraindication is a health concern or problem that unfortunately means we cannot go ahead with the treatment. • Recent surgery to the rectum or abdomen (less than 6 months ago)
• Blood pressure above 160/100
• Pregnancy
• Heart disease
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease including hepatitis and cirrhosis
• Gallstones or gall bladder disease
• HIV
• Severe anaemia (having a blood transfusion for)

• Severe haemorrhoids (inflamed or bleeding)
• Anal fissures (at this time)
• Anal fistulas
• Abdominal hernia
• Bowel perforation
• Long term oral steroid use
• Active infections of the colon
• Acute inflammation of the colon
• Cancer
